Inside the Lannah Dunn Atelier — Rare Antique Jewellery, Diamond Engagement Rings and Rare Gemstones

A New Chapter at the Lannah Dunn Jewellery Atelier

As a new year unfolds, a beautiful new chapter begins for Lannah Dunn Fine Jewellery.

For many years, the Russell Street Art Deco home in Toowoomba has quietly served as the heart of the Lannah Dunn workshop — a place where antique jewels are restored, rare gemstones are examined and new designs are brought to life by the skilled hands of the house’s gemmologists, designers and master jewellers.

In 2026, this historic home evolves further as the jewellery workshop expands throughout the building, allowing greater space for the careful restoration, creation and curation of the rare and beautiful jewels that define the Lannah Dunn collection.

As a result of this exciting growth, the Russell Street address will now operate primarily as the Lannah Dunn jewellery atelier, dedicated to craftsmanship, restoration and the care of remarkable jewels.

Clients are warmly welcomed to visit the atelier by private appointment on Thursdays.  (Bookings here)

These appointments offer a calm and personal setting in which to experience the collections and discuss bespoke commissions with the Lannah Dunn team.

A Remarkable Antique Jewellery Collection

Lannah Dunn has long been recognised for its exceptional antique jewellery collection, sourced from across Europe, the UK and beyond, these past 41 years and with a commitment to beauty, history and rarity.

Following a highly successful unveiling of newly acquired antique jewels in Brisbane City — gathered during the latest international buying trip — a selection of these remarkable and historic pieces continue to be released.

Many clients travel regularly, from all over Australia, to the Brisbane City boutique, and for this reason the antique collection largely remains together rather than divided between locations. However, part of the trove and some extra special items, continue to reside within the Russell Street atelier in Toowoomba, where collectors and clients may view these rare pieces by private arrangement.

Victorian rings, antique intaglios, historic gold chains and rare decorative jewels form an important part of the Lannah Dunn story, with every piece carefully inspected and prepared by the in-house workshop to ensure it may be worn and enjoyed well into the twenty-first century.

The Russell Street home therefore remains a place of discovery for collectors seeking jewels of beauty, history and rarity.

Bespoke Jewellery and Engagement Rings

Alongside the antique collection, the Lannah Dunn atelier is where many of the house’s most treasured bespoke jewels and engagement rings are conceived.

Clients frequently visit the atelier to discuss custom designs incorporating natural diamonds, rare coloured gemstones and heirloom stones entrusted to the workshop for transformation into new jewels.

Engagement rings featuring Australian sapphires, natural diamonds and rare coloured diamonds are among the most requested commissions, each piece designed and created with careful attention to proportion, craftsmanship and enduring beauty.

These bespoke jewels reflect the philosophy of the house — that jewellery should be created slowly, thoughtfully and with a view to becoming part of a family's story for generations to come.

Jewels of the Lannah Dunn House

Within both the Brisbane City boutique and the Toowoomba atelier, visitors encounter a rare and beautiful selection of jewels that reflect the distinctive design language of the Lannah Dunn house.

These pieces blend antique inspiration with modern craftsmanship, creating jewels that are timeless yet unmistakably contemporary.

Diamond Horseshoe Rings

Among the most recognisable Lannah Dunn designs is the diamond horseshoe ring, a talismanic jewel long associated with luck, love and protection.

Set with brilliant white diamonds in finely crafted gold, the horseshoe motif has become a signature piece of the house and is frequently chosen as a distinctive engagement ring or meaningful gift.

The enduring symbolism of the horseshoe — believed to bring fortune and protection to its wearer — makes it a jewel cherished by many Lannah Dunn collectors.

Australian Sapphire Jewellery

Australia produces some of the world’s most extraordinary sapphires, celebrated for their rich blues, deep greens and remarkable natural character.

At Lannah Dunn, Australian sapphire rings and bespoke sapphire engagement designs are thoughtfully created by the gemmology and design team, highlighting the natural beauty and individuality of each stone.

These jewels celebrate both the rarity of Australian gemstones and the tradition of fine jewellery craftsmanship.

Australian Pink Diamond Jewellery

Few gemstones possess the rarity and romance of the natural pink diamond.

Lannah Dunn continues to curate and design jewels incorporating these extraordinary stones, often set in delicate rings or heirloom pieces where their unique colour and brilliance can be fully appreciated.

Pink diamonds remain among the most sought-after gemstones in the world, treasured for their beauty, scarcity and enduring value.

Personalised Signet and Monogram Rings

A jewel steeped in centuries of European tradition, the signet ring remains one of the most personal pieces a client may commission.

Lannah Dunn crafts solid gold personalised signet and monogram rings, engraved with initials, family crests or meaningful symbols.

These pieces are designed to be worn daily and treasured across generations, carrying with them the stories and heritage of their wearer.

Diamond Huggie Earrings

Elegant and timeless, diamond huggie earrings annd rings are among the most versatile jewels within the Lannah Dunn collection.

Designed to sit closely against the ear in a refined circle of brilliant white diamonds, these earrings offer effortless sophistication for both everyday wear and evening occasions.

Their simplicity and beauty make them a cherished addition to any jewellery collection.
