High carat gold Antique Swiss enamel and diamond locket

Antique of the Month

Welcome to this month's celebration of Antique of the Month.  To start this new exciting concept we have carefully selected this exquisite and very rare locket  made in 18ct gold with enamel & diamonds.  It is of Swiss origin circa 1890.

It features remarkable decorative gold work with magnificent floral enamel decoration coupled with rose-cut diamonds set across the floral bouquet ribbon.  The enamel work is in perfect condition in beautiful feminine colours.

Extraordinary quality, perfect as a piece of distinction to commemorate a special occasion.  The perfect enameling on the front of the locket includes the iris flower which commonly means wisdom, hope, trust and valour.  The iris inspired the fleur-de-lys, a decorative symbol used by French royalty and in much of the historic LD French antique collection.
